  1. Any tech theatre position, but if you feel like owning a car and a home and cute clothing, I HIGHLY recommend doing it as a double major with something else.

  2. Why did you major in Theatre in the first place? Probably because you want to be an actor!

But if you haven't received a degree yet, I suggest you double major or at least minor in something useful. Something you can rely on during the times between gigs. Try going for a minor/major in business or literature. That way you can work in theatre administration (marketing, development, artistic management, dramaturgy) and still have time to audition and do shows at night. I know a lot of actors here in NY working in administration and they have shows at night.

Also if your track can be technical theatre, go for it. If it interests you. Lighting, Set or Sound Design. Or Stage Management.

  3. With a BA in theatre, its obvious... be an actor! Go audition for theatres across the country. You could even try Broadway. Or you could work at a theatre.

  4. it depends, do you want to act, do technical theatre or even administration? then start looking for summer stock jobs while you are in college. The money is not great but you get experience, job contacts and sometimes lifelong friends. It also can help you decide if you want to pursue a career in theatre. These summer jobs can lead to good internships out of college that can further your career or help you get into a MFA program.
