I am serious. My mom is a controlling over-worrier and thinks im going to be raped or something if i babysit, so that is out of the question. My mom is pretty cheap and most of the luxuries go to her, so id like a job that i can earn my own money so i dont have to rely on her to buy me things...

  1. gotta wait til your 15 1/2

  2. Hmm... how to answer this one...

Well, I don't know you OR your mom. Perhaps she is a controller and big worrier. Maybe you're one of those rebellious teens who thinks she knows everything. But give her SOME credit. She's been around a lot longer than you, and has seen a lot more. Hey, you never know, maybe she was assaulted by someone that she was babysitting for. Bet you didn't think of THAT. I'm guessing she wouldn't want to share that with you.  Not saying it happened, but just an example of what could have happened.

Many of the questions we get here from teens are quite interesting. They like to think they know it all, yet their questions indicate their ignorance of the world in general.

Oh, here's my stock answer to this question:

You need to be 15 1/2 in order to get a work permit. Since you are underage, you will have to try the usual: Babysitting, yard work, and dog walking. You will have to ask around local small businesses to see if they will hire you and pay you under the table. Don't bother with the big companies, their policies prohibit hiring you.

    Good luck!

  3. My son worked at McDonald's when he was 15 &1/2 so unless you want to wait a year, the only way for you to earn money would be to like do errands for a neighbor like pick up their mail when they are on vacation, feed a dog or cat, mow a lawn, do some cleaning, help serving for someones party, things like that. There are not a lot of jobs you can do yet, sorry.

  4. Funny, Cause I am a 14 year old who lives in California.

The only job that I do is babysitting.  If you have no one to babysit for, ( I did at one time )  Then make a couple ( A bunch ) Of fliers and put them up everywhere and in some peoples door k**b things.  In California you are too young to get a job at the age of 14.  You have to be 16.  You  can  try to get a job a a party Cater or you can do some volunteer work and usually there is some kind of reward at the end that can be worth up to 50 dollars.

    Hope that that helped! =)

  5. not sure...... but might i add, that is a good attitude to take in life at your age.

  6. well u could do some things for neighbors around

put up posters for handywork jobs such as washing cars cleaning dogs washing out gudders u can also do serveys online each servey usualy pays $5 each u could also see if u could work at any fast food restrunts as bussboys

  7. You can :

    1) Be a sign spinner..........very popular now-a-days.

    2) Be a referee for youth soccer games. No joke and it pays decent. It will not take away from your school work and it gives you something to do on weekend days. Look into your local youth soccer league because they are always hard up for refs. My son just finished the two day training, which was free of charge. Soccer season starts in a few weeks so don't put it off.

  8. chick fla

  9. You can always work in the lawn care buisness for neighbors- water flowers and mow the grass when the're away.  You could have a dog walking/ grooming buisness which would rake in a few extra bucks.  Hope i helped :-)
