  1. Health psych works with people with chronic illnesses (like cancer, diabetes, heart disease etc)

Sport psych works with athletes to keep them functioning at peak level, helps them with motivation, balancing sport life with social/family/education/work etc

Organisational/Industrial psych works in businesses doing things like ensuring the wellbeing of employees

Neuropsych looks at the brain, how different areas of the brain cause certain behaviour. If someone has suffered a brain injury and is showing a certain symptom (i.e. speech difficulties) a neuropsych would look at the area of the brain that regulates that behaviour

Disability workers usually have psych experience because there is a high level of mental illness in people with all kinds of disabilities (especially depression)

Child psych's look at the development of a child, like do they walk/talk etc at the appropriate times. May also work with kids who have developmental disabilities such as autism, ADD, ADHD, aspergers etc

Teachers benefit from psych education. You can also teach high school psychology

Forensic psychologists profile criminals to help the police catch them (like in Criminal Minds!) but this takes A LOT of study. Forsensic psychs also work in child protection (i.e. foster kids) and testify in court if a psych perspective is needed

There are LOTS LOTS more but thats just a start

  2. Many research positions. Teaching. Management and human resources. Career counseling.
