  1. There are lots of American and English companies looking for people who speaks English.

In fact is better for a foreigner to find a job here than for the natives.

  2. For sure teaching english, for some school it doesn't require the teacher to speak portuguese in class, specilly for advanced studants.

But depending in what you do in your home country you can be find the same aerea there , but is more likely that you need to speak portuguese.

    Good Luck

  3. Oil Company.

  4. In order to answer your query I just found that one possibility is  to try contacting www.manager.com, a Brazilian employment agency. Your resumé can be posted for 7 days free of charge..

    Good luck!

  5. The Brazilian job market is rather a struggle. High unemployment doesn't make things easy. The Brazilians will not give you any priority for employment (the other way round, they'll first put a Brazilian into the job).

You have two advantages.. You speak fluently English and  the $/Real change rate makes it easy for an American to invest.

So either you try at any multinational firm dealing with international relations, teach English or you built your own business.

Otherwise you'll try jobbing as barkeeper or something like this, but be advised that you will have to do this nearly for free and its a hard living.

In any case you will have to learn Portuguese..

And careful before you invest! Your dollars are very welcome to anybody, even if they always tell you that they don't care about money.

The best thing that could happen is that you get contrated by GM for example and let you sent over to a local fabric paid as in the States ;)

  6. Lots of things! But you should look for more qualified jobs, such as an English teacher, on multinational companies or even on hostels/hotels.

If you´re looking for a backpack trip and live of jobs on bars and alike (that should be fine in Europe), it wouldn´t be a choice in Brazil...

  7. English teaching is subsistence living. The best would be to get into a multinational company in America and get transfered to Sao Paulo with all kinds of expat benefits. Even if you are mid level management you will earn and live well in Brazil if you take this route.

  8. My cousin is there currently teaching English....she's fluent in Portuguese and English.
