  1. If you go to a Continuing Community Retirement Community (CCRC) you may be able to get a position as a Residential Assistant.  This is a position in the Assisted Living area.  You are responsible for patient care but not to the extent as in the Skilled Facilities.  You are also responsible, at least in the state of PA, to dispense meds.  There are many situations where you can get the training you need while there.

The other thing you can get into in a facility is either food service or housekeeping.  Those jobs are usually subcontracted through another company, though, not the actual nursing home.

    Good luck!

  2. you may go through CNA training and then work there with no experience, check out the CNA page at PureMedicalJobs.com

  3. Nursing homes are required to hire someone with a CNA license, as far as I have seen (in most states).  You can get the CNA license by taking the course and passing the test.  The employers won't hire you because you haven't been trained in lifting patients, and in safety and health requirements.

Check your local One-Stop Career Center, operated by the department of labor in your state (or county).  They may have training money for CNA if there is a shortage of employees in your area.
