Question:

What jobs would work for me?

I'm a mother of three looking for a part-time job. I attended the University of Michigan, with a bachelor's degree in Engineering, class of '84, 45 years old. I'm married, and my husband has a pretty good job, but my children are growing up (daugter is 15, son is 13, son is 8) and I feel that if we worked, we could manage me getting a part-time job.

I'm looking for a job that requires a college degree. I do NOT want to work in retail. I would like something that I actually have to use my mind for, not working as a receptionist preferably. I would probably do well in Sales. I've considered substitute teacher, working at a bank, tutoring, and teaching tennis (I'm a 4.5 level woman) but the problem is that for tutoring, I would have to be working when my kids are home from school, and that will not work.

Flexible hours would be good, and I would need to be home 2 days a week by around 3 o'clock.

Any suggestions for jobs would be a great help. Thank you so much for your time.

P.S. I'm using my daughter's account.

  1. I am a mother of 4 and I homeschool my children.  I have a BS in Special Education, but I don't want to be away from my kids at work all day.  So, I home school them and work a job from home.  I set appointments for an international wellness company and set up online accounts.  All I use are my phone and computer and I truly work this around our family schedule.  I would enjoy talking with you and sharing this information.  At least then you could see if it is something you would like to do.  Oh, and I won't hold it against you that you are a U of M grad....I grew up going to Ohio State football games and doing script Ohio in my front yard....... GO BUCKS!  hee hee hee :)

    good luck : )

  3. I was so frustrated when I was trying to find a work at home job! I lost almost $300 in scams...it was really crappy. But I did find a few good site and I am now an Administrative Assistant for a company overseas.

If I’m not mistaken my company is still looking to hire---this is  our link:

And also this is an excellent directory that helped me find a work at home job. Some of the jobs available are: virtual customer care, data entry, quality reviewer, IT, and there’s a bunch more that I’ve seen.

If I can give one piece of advice though when looking for an online job---NEVER pay a start up fee to join a work at home company or directory. Very few legitimate companies will require you to pay them in order for them in turn to pay you. It defeats the point! Moreover, there are plenty of free sites available! :)

(The companies listed should not charge any start up fees nor hidden fees down the road)

I also make good extra money answering paid surveys. I’ll usually spend a couple of hours a day answering surveys and l make approx $50 a day = $1000-$1500 a month. For the most profitable free sites see:
