What keeps it from being a classic???

Question

I know there's alot of albums out there that are disputed on whether they're a classic or not, so my question is what is it that you feel stops it?

For example, I don't think Get Rich or Die Tryin' has alot of replay value, it was hot then but I haven't listened to it in quite a while. Albums i consider classics get some pretty good rotation.

I just trade in different markets; but, I think a classic is created by the passage of time.    Music is not my bag; but, you have to let 20 to 25 years pass for any cultural influence to  get its proper ranking.

I think u answer ur own question.  Classics have to stand the test of time.  Make you wanna buy it three or four times.

A Classic is a song/album that you don't get tired of .AND THE WHOLE CD JAMS ... LIKE

A Classic Album or Song is a joint that can drop at any time and still be dope.

for example

Ready to Die could come out next week, for the first time and it would still be considered dope

and Get Rich is definitely a classic.

most all albums have at least 1-2 songs that simply suck..even the best ones...people argue about which songs those are, and the number of those that the album contains. furthermore, there is an argument as to how many of these can be permitted to be "classic"..I personally would state there should be less than two of these songs, unless the other majority of the album is simply overwhelming/abnormally long, yet some people would state they belive only one song may be permitted, or in often-case, none.

Ah... poor Fiddy.  He was hot for two albums, but then we saw that his lyrics were his weak point.  Not a good look for an MC.

I think he should go with Taco Bell's suggestion of increasing his value by changing his name to 79, 89, or 99 Cent.
