Also, what do modes apply to? Someone told me this progression is in the b dorian mode. Do modes apply to both major and minor scales? How so?

im still a beginner but i know that

to play in the key of G

its Bm C D Am

so if the e wasnt there than that would in the key of G

but since the e is there than its in no key.

the beginnig is the key of G but the last note is in key of E
