  1. I got a Logitech MX-5500 for my ps3 great range and not too hard to set up. Just do keyboard setup first then mouse. Nice to use, thought the mouse was a little chunky and heavy at first but i don't notice it now.

  2. Any USB keyboard and mouse should work. You can use a wireless keyboard if you want, it makes no difference. You can also get bluetooth, but you need to at least have a USB keyboard available for the Linux install. The PS3 won't recognize the bluetooth in the alternate OS until after the OS and drivers are installed.

Personally I use the Logitech Cordless MediaBoard, but I only got it because I found it at Walmart for $20 (haven't seen it that cheap since). It works pretty well, but the trackpad is a little annoying because I'm used to a regular mouse. I have installed Linux with it, and have encountered no problems.
