  1. Purchasing a wakeboard is really should be more about picking a board that fits your abilities, what kind of ride characteristics you are looking than just buying the BMW of wakeboards.  I would suggest you head over to Wakeside (http://www.wakeside.com/page/w/CTGY/wake... and check out the various manufacturers and the boards they offer and the characteristics that would best fit your abilities.  Under each manufacturer, you can see how the boards should perform.  You can buy the most expensive pro-level board, but it might not help your progression much if you can not control it.  You can easily lay down $800 for board and bindings under any of the manufacturer offerings, but i would suggest picking one that fits you, regardless of the price, over just picking one that looks good in your board rack.  Let your riding do the talking rather than the price and look of the board.

May I also suggest, heading over to your local board shop and rent some demo boards once you pick a couple and see how they ride before shelling out big money for one you won't be able to ride.  Most shops will apply any rental charges towards a board you eventually purchase, so it really is a great deal.  I wish you luck.
