I had previously been recommended Seminole's Cool Mix, Meadow Herb, or new Wellness Calm & Cool but Seminole feeds aren't available in my area, only the southwest. Do you have any suggestions for other prepacked, texturized (non-pellet) grain mixes that are low starch or otherwise considered to be a cool or non-heating mix?

  2. When I have really HOT horses like TBs and running QHs, I've fed for the past 30 years or more, rolled barley corn and an ground Alfafa and molasses mixture. Oats = energy and that's the last thing I ever needed with any of my horses.  I'd try the A&M, but think that the rolled barley corn maybe too high in starches for what you are looking for.
