What kind fun indoor activities can I do with my kids?

My son is 4 1/2 and my daughter just turned 3. Sometimes we can't get outside. We're looking to cure the boredom!

Please don't suggest tv or movies because I want to do something to keep them active.

Oh, do the same things the kids would do in preschool:

Art and crafts. - have them make puppets to go along with a story.

Allow them to make up a story to ago along with the puppets.

Make sun catchers. - clear contact paper and tissue paper is all that is needed.

Make a necklace out of noddles - yarn and noddles are all you need. You can paint the noddles.

Finger painting, painting with a paint brush, painting with pine cones, painting with acorns (You'll need a piece of paper,  a large zip loc food container. - cut the paper to fit inside the container then drop in some paint and acorns, and let the kids shake. - be sure to put the lid on.)

Painting with a leaf.

Paint with a old toy car (wheels). push the car along a piece of paper after dipping the wheels in paint.

paint with anything you can put dip in paint.

Read a book and then have the kids act it out.

Play dress-up.

Build a farm with blocks, get animals from another toy to use.

Make a tent out of a table.

Read books

pretend to be airplanes.

Spin in circles until you are dizzy.

Call out animals for your children to "act like" - You call out "dog" and your kids get on all fours and bark.

Turn a box into something. - A house, a car, etc...color, paint, use stickers, to decorate.

Arts and crafts....all you need is construction paper, markers or crayons, glue and child scissors....nothing but fun,,,,get stickers, sparklies, etc,,,,,They love it.....

Depending on the size of your house and space to play without knocking over precious assets.  You could play a variety of games such as board games, dancing, pretend dressup , make a stage and do the karaoke thing.
