What kind in a 10gallon tank??

Question

i have a 10G tank i was wondering

what kind of fish i can i put in it

i already have a small gold fish

and 2 tetras ( the very small ones )

please help its a gift for my mom she loves fish

no more, i dont think goldfish and tetras go togethor and depending on what type of goldfish you have, your goldfish need 20 gallons just by itself no matter how big otherwise it will not grow and it will be stunted and die sooner =]

You have goldfish and tetras in the same tank? Those aren't compatible goldfish are coldwater fish and tetra's are warmwater fish.

Wait, ido you have the goldfish and tetra in the 10 gallon tank allready? They need to be separated, goldfish only do well with other goldfish and only one goldfihs can live in a 10 gallon tank.  So I suggest getting a new tank for one of them because goldfihs need cold water and the tetras need a heater...

Well a good 10G tank set up is a Power blue gourami with a group of 6 small schooling fish...such as glofish or neon tetras

the rule of thumb is 1 inch per gallon adult size. so you can't put many fish in there and it's way to small for goldfish.

maybe try some neon tetras or danios

Your gold fish are probably going to end up killing your other fish because a ten gallon is way to small for gold fish. They cause massive amounts of ammonia. You could try danios or a different type of tetra. They are the heartiest fish and usually do prettyw ell. They usually like to be in groups of atleast 5, but with a ten gallon you could probably only fit about 10 small tetras.

sorry for saying this but **** the guy whos at the top... i've had a goldfish for a long time and he's been w/ different type of fish and he's doing fine... anyways you should get neon tetras, black phantom tetras, and red phantom tetras, and maybe some cory catfish those would be perfect in a 10 gallon tank
