What kind odd plant is this?

The plant is very odd looking, and I would like to know the name of it so I can search online to see how to take care of it.

Looks like a odditie all right.  Maybe some kind of Crassula or cactus.  It could be a strange Euphorbia.  

Just treat it like a succulent. Well draining soil. Not too much water.  Bright indirect light.

It looks like a brain cactus or coral cactus. There are a variety of species, each looking a little different from each other. See the picture below.
