Question:

What kind of Cactus is this?

just wondering what kind of plant i bought, if it even is a cactus. Please tell me the type and a little bit of info about it.

  1. It is a type of plant called a succulent.

    All cacti are succulents but not all succulents are cacti.


  2. Don't know exactly, but it looks like a succulent to me, not a cactus.  Succulents don't have thorns and generally feel kinda firm and meaty, if you lightly squeeze them (be gentle!).

    Most plants will do well if you stick your finger into the soil about 2 inches.  If the soil is damp, don't water.  If it's dry, water it well, letting the water drain out of the bottom.  Don't let the pot sit in water from the saucer, it can get root rot and die.

    Hope this helps. Whatever it is, it's a cute little plant.  Also, talk to your plants.  They grow much better - seriously!

  3. Your plant is a succulent. It is in the Echeveria family, but I can't tell for sure exactly which one from the photo.
