What kind of License do I need to have a home remodeling business

Question

I live in San Diego, California and was wondering do I need some type of license or permit. Or can I be a sole sole proprietor? Please give me all the info you possibly have :)

Sole Proprietor is fine.   If you do jobs under $750 you don't need a license.  Over that, you need a General COntractors License.  Contact the Registrar of COntractors in Cal. /
