  1. Manuka Honey

  2. LOCAL..Raw Honey is the most beneficial.

As the other what kind each flower it comes from has a different taste so, What do you like?

  3. I know that a lot of vegans out there choose not to eat honey because it's obtained from animals. But honestly, since it's not made from animals, you really should look into the whole beekeeping enterprise before you put beekeepers into the same group that you would beef farmers and an unfortunate selection of wool farmers who torture their sheep with hair-growth hormones.

Unfortunately, though you'd think they would know better, many farmers don't seem to get this whole pollination thing, and have started using pesticides so strong that they kill bees (another reason to buy organic produce). As I understand it, bees are particularly resistant to most normal pesticides, but many farmers can't tolerate the other bugs that are, too. So instead of finding a better solution, they just go and wipe out those friendly, helpful bees. Hopefully these people will learn before there aren't any bees left to pollinate their produce.

  4. honestly, all raw honey is basically the same. It is simply raw honey. If you are into what LOOKS healthiest, honey that is a deeper shade or more on the hard side is generally COMPLETELY raw, whereas other honey's labeled as raw that have the smooth yellow sheen of honey are sometimes heated slightly to give it that smooth consistency while still not being pasteurized into the non-raw stage. Truly raw honey almost has a bees-waxy look to it until you melt it down, and it is easier to store that way too, since it doesn't get sticky honey goop all over the cupboard. You can always just heat the honey up a little to soften it once you buy it, there is no need for it to be pre-softened. Just submerge the jar (I recommend glass jars because they are reusable so you can buy honey in bulk and refill the jar) in warm water for a few minutes.

Avoid anything that comes in a gimicky honey bear or has a brand label from a big store, like Kroger or Albertonson's or Walmart.

Something about honey though, almost every area has local honey (not all, but ALMOST all) so try to buy something local.

Also, something i don't recommend: Don't buy honey in the big multi-gallon tubs unless you religiously consume it. It is so hard to use all that honey and it takes up a lot of space.

  5. As said already most honey is all the same. However there are many types and flavors most are close to being the same and color.I have 52 hives as i own a farm with 3500 fruit trees mostly apples.Honey is loaded with enzymes that are so good for us.As most people have said buy local.Honey does not spoil unless contaminated. My personal fav or course is apple blossom and it tends to be a less rich flavor and is lighter in color. However in some areas sage honey is sold pungent rich dark with somewhat of a herbal flavor. Most store honey is clover honey due to its light color and mild flavor.orange blossom honey is a med color with a med flavor.Any type you get is great just get it fresh untouched by HIGH heat as it kills enzymes that are so important for us.A plus ill add to raw honey feed it to your fam and friends that have high cholesteral and watch it drop.If your looking for proof and the science behind it you wont find it.Unless you can ask a bee or mother nature lol.Love your bees without them were in a great deal of trouble as they provide 90 percent of our all or flowering fruts and vegis without them we have nothing.Oh a happy note for you all the coloney colaps syndrom seems to be fixing it self.European honey bees are back on the rise.Thank you mother nature for what you do for us!!!!

  6. The kind that your local beekeeper makes.  Local honey can help you avoid or alleviate any allergy you might have to your local pollens.
