Question:

What kind of Sailboat?

I am a teenage beginner sailor, and my dad is considering getting another smaller sailboat, and it would sort of be mine. So I am wondering what kind of sailboat would be good for beginners. I am thinking about a laser, would that be a good boat? (It also has to be pretty cheap, not too expensive)

  1. I would recommend a pico or topper - toppers are slightly smaller than picos.  Here are the links for the two:

really personal preference, availability and cost will be the main factors when deciding which to buy.  Both should be reasonably priced though.

    Good luck!

  2. If I were you I would get a Laser Radial. They are lasers but they have a slightly smaller sail for begginers and lighter people. You can still be competetive in them because they are raced in all over ( even in the olymipics) so thats what i would get.

  3. i am 15 yrs old and i do sailing every week for school sport. i'm only a beginner too.

the yacht club that we go to provides us with boats. they are "RS Feva"s, and could fit 2 people, 3 max.

they are quite easy to manouevre. but sorry, i don't know anything about the price
