have you considered "making" your own exhaust? I have a 2000 M5, and I cut off all 4 mufflers, and replaced them with straight through magnaflow pipes, and it sounds beautiful! all in all it cost me about $200, for the 4 mufflers. I will also be replacing the stock catalytic converters to high flow magnaflow mufflers soon.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the 318 only has one muffler, so if you took that off, and replaced it with a magnaflow straight through muffler ($50-$60), you could really save some money, get a great sound, and add a little more "oomph" to your ride. On a dyno, I actually gained 6 HP to the rear wheels with these pipes...
