What kind of TV is better LCD,Plasma or projection?

Projection offers the biggest screen, followed by plasma.

Plasma is best in a low light room.

LCD is best in a room with more light.

LCD is better than plasma at a high altitude. (Plasma doesn't work there)

Plasma is cheaper per inch than LCD.

All have similar life spans.

Most common problem with LCD is dead pixels. (I have them I know)

Plasma can have burn in but improved technology makes it unlikely.

Plasma handles fast action scenes better.

LCD is currently more energy efficient. (although that may change soon)

If you are a DYI type person, projection is more readily repaired...

LCD are cheaper to run and offer the clearest picture and can be mounted just about anywhere.They will also reflect glare better. Also won't suffer from burn-in images from playing games.

Plasma screens are heavy , expensive to run and repair and can suffer from burn-in if an image is left on the screen for too long.

Projection screens in my opinion are a waste of time and money as most are pretty un-reliable and suffer break down problems soon after the warranty as expired unless you go all out and buy a Sony or other top brand name.

My personal opinion would be to buy a LCD as it will offer a better quality picture for general purpose viewing.

If you get a LCD make sure it as 120Hz refresh rate so you won't experience picture lag on fast moving images such as Sport or Movies

..in my opinion get an LCD, there far more superior and they only cost a few extra hundred dollars then a plasma...projectors are just to big and not worth the hassle
