What kind of Vegan/ Vegetarian foods can I find at Walmart?

Question

For example: Veggie burgers, or " fake meat".

What brands can I find at wal-mart?

What do you suggest eating as a meal?

I'm new to this, and I kind of need some help.

Walmart carries Gardenburger patties(is good on a half bagel with cheese! or in a wrap w/salsa), chick'n nuggets(tastes ALOT like chicken), stir fry crumbles(to mix w/eggs),fake sausage,  morning star has fake bacon that I like its pretty good I use it in sandwiches or crumbled over a salad. Amys has dinners like pasta bowls and lasagna, these are vegan I think. I eat all of these things on rotation! Hormel also has vegetarian chili thats good with cheese.

Try Amy's brand frozen foods. She has a whole line of vegan and vegetarian meals. The soy lasagna is soooo good - you can't tell the difference.!

All sorts of awesome foods. I buy all my veg stuff at walmart because it's cheaper.

they have all sorts of firmnesses of tofu

they have fake cheeses

they have nugget things

they have soy burgers, chik'n burgers, lasagna, and soy ground rounds.

wal-marts pretty much the bomb now.

also there's usually a small selection in the vegetable area (where the tofu is)

if you don't want recipes, then just play around in the kitchen.

my first year i did a lot of wraps with the fake meat with salads. pretty much any meal you used to like can be turned meatless you just have to look around!

You may want to try for some Glory Foods items as well -- mostly canned beans and veggies. Their entire Sensibly Seasoned line is vegan, and most of it is fantastic! I found those in a Wal-Mart in Opelousas, Louisiana, of all places!

Okay well "smart ones" makes some meatless meals. They are in a red box frozen. They have an angel hair marinara and some vegetarian burretos also.. Morning star has some sy foods in the frozen section in green boxes. They have the soy bacon, suasage, meat,hot dogs, all kinds of stuff.And by the fesh produce they have like soy cheeses and tofu products.. Good luck!! Enjoy

I'm a vegetarian too, so congrats! I have been for a year.

My FAVOURITE product is the l**k's Nature stuff. there's chili (though im not a big fan of the chili), wraps (my favourite-with 30gs of protien too!), sheperd's pie (yum..) and the best veggie burgers I can find. Some grocery stores don't carry them though.

I also recommend using marinades on fake meat/tofu. They usually don't have much flavour, but this helps alot. I like Knorr's Louisiana Red Pepper marinade-spicy!

The carry Morningstar and Boca veggie stuff in their frozen food section - but it might be different in your store - make sure you ask (different Walmarts carry different stuff depending on demand). In my store they're by the breakfast stuff in the frozen section. Also look in produce - they carry a lot of different tofu items there - as well as other types of refrigerated veggie and vegan items. Ask the produce guys - they'll show you.  Also, check the Yahoo groups for vegan and vegetarian groups - they'll have TONS of suggestions for you.

Well just think this way....most of the fruits and vegetables are grown using cow f***s and dairy and feed lot run off as fertilizer...so what purpose are you serving really? Oh yeah...and just for all the thumbs down...what do you think about the clothes you are wearing, you think they didn't fertilize that cotton as well. Oh and plastics and latex clothing, harming the environment to make those!!

At a Wal-Mart in texas, they have vegan peanut butter that is made by Peanut Butter & Co. It is THE best peanut butter i have ever tasted and they only sell it in that wal-mart around here.

They also have veggie burgers. I hope this helped, even though it probably didn't.

super-walmarts have a large section in their natural/organic secion and freezers, and all the fresh veggies of course... standard walmarts might have 1 or 2 foods, but unlikely much

All these ingredients you can get at walmart and it makes a WONDERFUL salad..

Pasta Salad (simple and easy)

1 head of broccli

1 head of cauliflower

1 green bell pepper

1 red bell pepper

1 box of tri colored rotini noodles (in the pasta aisle)

1-2 TBsp mayo (make sure its non fat..the real mayo)

Salt and black pepper

1/2 cup of cooking oil

Boil the noodles and oil in a pot until the noodles are soft but not mushy. The oil helps keep the noodles from sticking together..Boil in a seperate pan the broccli and cauliflower. Oh yea and cut the cauliflower and broccli up so its in small bite size pieces. Boil those until tender.

Finely chop up the 2 bell peppers and put in a large bowl. Once the broccli/cauliflower and noodles are done, rinse them off in cool water to help cool them faster. Add to the bell pepper bowl. Add the mayo and season with the salt and pepper. You can serve immediatly or chill in the fridge until ready to serve.

Variations would be to add onion, celery and/or tuna or cooked chopped chicken.

you can get garde burgers at wal-mart..if you have an m&m meats though they ahve the best vegetarian burgers ever!!!! haha

you can get yves ground beef from walmart and safeway use it as you would ground beef, in chili, tacos, spaghetti. very yummy...i make it all the time and my fmaily of meat eaters never know :D

Garden chicken simulated chicken nuggets and burgers are awsome!!! and you can get them again at safeway or walmart.

The ethnic food section at walmart has alot of cool new things to try and most are vegetarian or do not "need" meat in them.

i think there are chips that are vegan/vegetarian. they have a pig with, i think, wings. they are made with fruit/vegies and hae a full surving of either. i think they are vegen/vegetarian and the pig does not mean pigs were used in the process...
