What kind of a Halloween costume can I pull off with..?

...a halter black dress that comes down right above the knee that is a little poofy only at the bottom. I want to reuse this dress for halloween but I'm not quite sure what I can make with it. I also want it to be kid friendly even though it is black. I need advice thanks!

a witch (add hat and stockings), mortica (with some black make up and long hair), waitress (add an apron), dancer (add tap or ballerina shoes), kitty (add ears and tail), a dark fairy (add fairy wings)....thats all i can think of right now.  gl

The dress sounds more like a vampire/vampress to me.

Wear black nail polish, red lipstick, and a pentagram necklace or something. I'm sure it will look great!

I'm reusing a black dress too!  I spent $40 on it for my father's 50th birthday and haven't had a use for it since and I, also, need it to be kid friendly as I cannot afford therapy for my pre-schooler if I scare him half to death.  Okay, this is super simple: buy a witch hat.  That's it.  Buy a conical hat and pop it on your head and you have a witch costume that looks great, is a Halloween classic, and everyone will recognize without needing one of those costume explanations.  Happy Haunting!
