What kind of a bite/sting is this?

I was outside cleaning spider webs off of my grandma's porch when I felt this sharp pain in my fore arm. I slapped whatever was on my arm and went inside to look at the wound. The bite/sting is white and raised with red around it. I don't see an actual hole or place where the bug bit me and I didn't find a stinger. I don't think it has to be a spider it could be a wasp or something. What do you think it is?

  1. well, if it itches its a mosquito bite. also, it could very well be a horsefly~ its not a bee, tho. and it might be a spider, but thats very unlikely

  2. Difficult to tell without seeing it, the whiteness with red around it is inflammation due to the bite.  As long as you're not in any continuing pain I suggest not worrying too much about it.  Apply a cool compress and the inflammation should go down by tomorrow

  3. Where do you live? Depends on the geography really.

  4. Most likely a spider since you were cleaning spider webs, but impossible to tell without a picture. As long as you aren't having a reaction to it you'll be fine. Watch the bite/sting area for any changes and go to the ER if it changes and begins to get inflamed and spread.

  5. I'm not really sure.... but I would go see a doctor because i've never heard anything like it...

  6. im pretty sure its a spider bite...

  7. it might as well be a bee ...or a mosquito. it depends, what kind of animals exist by your house

  8. I don't know, but if it becomes hot to the touch in that immediate area, please go to the doctor.  I had a mysterious bug bite that become huge and hot and had to go the the doctor as it was infected.
