What kind of a job it is when you are in an office "buying stuff" for the company? ?

my friend has this job, I didn't want to be rude and ask more info, but he is online all day everyday on his myspace adding friends and writing people, how does he get anything done?

It's either called Facilities or Procurement. They are responsible for buying stuff for the company.

Buyer, Purchasing Agent, Procurement Clerk ... there are alot of names to the job but his job may be available soon if he doesn't get work done and spends all his time online.
