  1. No pic on photobucket

  2. The plant you have is an annual flower called Cosmos.  They get big daisy-like flowers in white or shades of pink.

Very easy to grow.  After it flowers, let the seeds dry right on the plant, pick them off before they fall off or the birds get them and save them in a jar in a cool, dry place.  You can plant them again next spring and your grandson will be so excited to see the whole process.

  3. Definatly not a sunflower, it look like some kind of wild flower.

  4. No not a Sunflower.

    That's a Cosmos Flower! C. bippinnatus

A common garden flower from Mexico

That plant is going to burst with pink, burgundy, or white daisy flowers! There are many cultivars with different flower shapes.

  5. definately Cosmos, I had one last year that looked exactly the same and I didn't know what it was until it flowered.  Its amazing how big they get! The flowers are stunning!

  6. no image

  7. Sorry Hon, the link doesn't go to the image.  Try again :-)  Ok, it's not a sunflower.  It looks feathery, like dill.  If it gets small white flowers on it and later, small seed pods with blade shaped seeds, and if it has a savoury, aniseed fragrance, it could be that.  It could also be one of any number of plants.  It might be easier to identify when it flowers.

  8. looks to me like a fern of some type.

it definately is not a sunflower.

  9. This is Cosmos. It's easy to tell by the distinctive foliage.
