What kind of a sad joke is it that the Republicans think Palin is more experienced in politics than Obama is?

C'mon folk. Look at how small of a town she was Mayor of and of how small a state she governs.

Her approval rating was only 85% right after she was elected too, it is currently below 65% as people have started realizing just how bad she is.

  1. If you can face the truth, ask what Obama has been executive of. Your question on experience is really the joke.

Mayor of a city of 9000 vs. Mayor of.....oh yeah, nowhere.

Governor of a state vs. Governor of.......oh yeah, nowhere.

Fought cronyism and corruption in her own state vs.......comes from the most corrupt political machine in the country, Chicago.

Works in a bi-partisan manner vs. works on the McCain-Feingold bi-partisan bill and votes against himself.

Cuts taxes and improves state revenues giving the money back to the taxpayers vs. talk, because he's done, oh yeah, nothing.

The sad joke is not examining the facts, based on what each has done verses spewing falsehoods, inuendo, rumours, and outright lies.

It's OK to have a different viewpoint, but this question doesn't provide any intelligent information to help anyone choose what best fits their beliefs.

  2. it is fact.

She was on the city council, then mayor for 2 terms, then governor for 2 years. She has a longer political record, and one that includes executive experience. That gives her more experience.

Obama has done a short stint as Senator, during which he has declined to vote more often than he has voted. I don't know you can even count his minimal experience since he has rarely done his job.

Palin however has taken on the GOP, clamped down on pork barrel spending, and made a lot of serious good changes for Alaska.

So she not only has more experience, but she has accomplished things in the process. What has Obama accomplished since he became Senator besides give a good speech, and capture the Demo nomination?

  3. are you kidding? politicians dream of 50% approval ratings!! this lady has a higher approval rating than most of the others!!!

  4. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarah_Palin

sorry you have all your facts wrong

    try again

    theres her biography in politics

she has been in politics 2 years longer than obama.

actually 4 cause obama has been running for president for 2 years and has 143 active days in the senate since 2004.

    obama "works" for the government

    Palin "runs" the government

    can obama say that?

    NOPE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. It shows that McCain isn't fit to lead, his first big decision and he goes for the 3rd string to grab headlines rather than think about the future.

  6. She's a joke.

    VOTE REPUBLICAN! THAT'S WHY!

  7. Because they see and believe what they want to.

Alaska is one of our biggest states landwise, but one of the smallest population wise.  i think RI has more people.  So not impressed by that.

Ummm, she was Mayor of a town that's not much bigger than my high school.  I'm sure working on zoning laws and fixing cracked sidewalks will really count when dealing with Putin.

And Congress - which includes Senators - really runs the country you dipsh1tz.  The president can't do squat without Congress approval, and they can override his veto.  Since when does a governor "run the country". Federal law trumps state law you doofuses.

AND, Obama had 8 years in the state senate before the US Senate.  How much time did Palin take for maternity leave??

EDIT:  I love it.  I've seen she has 10 years' experience, then 16.  lol  I read today that she said she was a hockey Mom 8 years ago.  Didn't know that qualified as experience for VP.  lol  And please don't even count the time spent in the "village" she was mayor of.  I would think being Mayor of my town of 40,000 qualifies as anything.  The big thing is trying to keep Wal-Mart out of town, or what to do with the open space in the former Navay base.  Impressive stuff!!

EDIT - And now the town has 9000 people???  It had 5,670 when she was Mayor.  You'll swallow everything you're fed aren't you??

  8. How can Republicans nominate - with a straight face - a person who is under an ethics investigation and also says she doesn't know what the job of Vice-President is. She has no clue.

SEE/HEAR HER IN HER OWN WORDS:   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pak-rH0dC...

(her V.P. comments are toward the end of the video)

  9. She is more experienced.  She has executive experience.  Your Obama is a sad joke.

  10. and they forget to include that Obama is a Harvard topnotch graduate, knows the mainstream politics, in and out so he knows how to deal with tough situations and she graduated from Idaho State in Journalism, just a regular student, a hockey mom, beauty queen, moose hunter and wants to include Creationism in schools....lol

  11. it was bigger than the town that obama was mayor of and bigger than the state obama was governor of right?  13 years on public service beats obamas 100 days in the senate...........

  12. She is definitely not a Washington insider, and I guess she has been a political figure for a short while longer than Obama. The thing that I like about her is that she seems to be a real person who has a legitimate track record of fighting corruption and injustice inspite of partisanship. I'm not sure if Obama did much more as a Senator than give speeches and miss votes.

  13. Sixty-five percent sounds pretty good.

Obama hasn't spent one day on the job, and his approval rating is 45%.

  14. The sad joke is that your so brainwashed to actually realize that she IS more experienced than Obama. She has been in politics for 10 years, and in her first term as governor for Alaska (which, obviously, beats out a senator).

  15. CIty Council.  Mayor two terms and Governor of a STate (Executive Branch).and I guess that's a h&&& of a lot more that 143 days in the Senate--isn't it?

  16. It gets worse for our country as in the future don't be suprised if we wake up to a mushroom because of Iraq blowback from Al-Qaeda or a future terrorist group in the next 10-20 years.

  17. Its a real joke. When you're giving your acceptance speech as VP of the United States of America and you talk about being a PTA mom you are sadly sadly inexperience. That women cannot run a country if we need her

  18. what choice do they have?? McCain picked her and they have to spin it to be as positive as possible.

She is pretty young and attractive.  And so far to the right it makes McCain look like a democrat so perhaps she will appeal to the very right wing base.  What a disaster for this country if they get elected.  She is actually in favor of teaching creationism along with evolution.  That is very scary.

  19. Yup. Executive experience has nothing on being a community organizer or 1 Senate term of consistently voting "present." And lets not forget running a newspaper at Harvard. I mean, the size of Alaska's population must be proportionate to her skills, right? And since it has the smallest number of people, the ones who do live there must be stupid, obviously. And look what she named her kids! What a valid argument against her. 85%? Pssh. Congress is doing so much better. I take it you were being sarcastic but I could be wrong.

  20. that small state is the biggest state in the US with about as many people as Biden's state.  She has been in politics for 16 years and she is not an insider like Biden

  21. lol, please state what obamas accomplishments are over hers.because he has no executive experience at all.you are fighting a losing battle.face it,the convention bubble just got popped!

  22. she will be vetted up and down, believe it. especially after the ball busting  Obama  has gotten.

  23. Palin has executive experience. You know, running things.

Obama's 2 years of legislative experience consisted of legislative aides telling him what to do, and crafting legislation for him.

  24. No one really believes that.  The repubs are grasping at straws and lying through their teeth to win this election.  Palin is being used, poor thing.

  25. dude, you don't even have to do any serious research. Just read her wikipedia page. Osama Bin Laden's goin dooown.

  26. It's not a joke. More like a reality. Compared to Palin, Obama is WAY WAY WAY more experienced. She hasn't even served two years as governor yet! But I guess if she counts, then so did Dubya, because him serving six years as governor of Texas sure did qualify him to be a President, and you see how lovely our country is now because of those mere six years.

  27. With parents like these... who needs Vice Presidents??

The Palins have five children: Track, 19; Bristol 17; Willow 14; Piper, 7, and Trig, who was born in April

    Is Trig short for Triginometry????

  28. ur so funny, i love ur display pic.. u rock! and yes i think its a sad joke also.. kinda talking out of both sides of there a** if u ask me.

  29. How small a state?

    Alaska is our LARGEST state

And we don't THINK she has more experience...We KNOW it, because we can research and read...

Your question is the sad joke

Palin has more executive experience than Obama, but the liberals seem to keep forgetting that that they're comparing a presidential candidate to a VICE presidential candidate...So, to point out Palin's supposed 'lack of experience' makes their presidential candidate's lack even more glaring.

Palin is the first woman governor of Alaska, the first person to serve as governor that was born after Alaska was granted statehood, was mayor and served on city council.

She has traveled overseas, more times than Obama, to visit wounded soldiers and one of her sons is set to be deployed to Iraq in September.

Palin’s accomplishments in Alaska dwarf Obama’s time in the Senate. She has killed pork barrel projects including the Bridge to Nowhere and passed ethics reform in Alaska that effectively ended the political career of many Republicans. She passed a constitutional ban on g*y marriage but signed into law benefits for homosexual couples. And unlike the current Senate, has passed a budget in the amount of $6.6 billion that included several hundred cuts in wasteful programs, saving taxpayers over $200 million.

Palin's popularity soared above 80% as she shelved pork-barrel projects by fellow Republicans and jump-started a campaign by her lieutenant governor, Sean Parnell, to unseat veteran U.S. Rep. Don Young of Alaska, who is now being investigated by the FBI.

Ms. Palin has shown similar boldness in going after Big Oil, whose money has long dominated the state and helped fund its Republican machine. In a snub to the oil majors, she has proposed TransCanada Corp., a Calgary energy company, be given the primary contract to lead the $30 billion job to build a natural-gas pipeline from Alaska's North Slope.

"Palin has accomplished a feat which has eluded the U.S. Congress for many years. She has pushed through the Alaska legislature a natural gas pipeline project which will bring new supply and price relief to the lower 48:

On Aug. 1, the same day the call for a vote on drilling began on the House floor, the Alaska state Senate approved a package of measures to license a new natural gas pipeline. House Bill 3001 lets Palin award the Alaska Gasline Inducement Act license to TransCanada Alaska, a pipeline builder that cast a winning bid of five.

The legislature had been trying for 30 years to authorize something like this and, up until now, had blown it. Palin got it through. Getting it off the ground, the state says, will be the biggest construction project in U.S. history.

Palin considers the $26 billion project her biggest accomplishment as governor. "It was not easy," she told IBD. "Alaska has been hoping and dreaming for a natural gas pipeline for decades. What it took was getting off the dime and creating a competitive market in Alaska."

The 1,715-mile gas line would stretch from Alaska's North Slope to Fairbanks and down to Alberta, Canada. Then it would take existing gas lines to Idaho. In 10 years, Palin says, the lower 48 states would receive 4.5 million cubic feet of natural gas a day. By 2030, according to Energy Department estimates, Alaska's annual natgas production would quintuple to 2 trillion cubic feet."

There's much more, but I think you may be getting the point.

  30. LoL, have you heard Mcains speech it sounded just like obamas. Its true Mcain has more experience than obama, but Mcain is old he's like a mummy. Obama will bring (New ideas) not the same old like the others. (besides president clinton). During the DNC president clinton said it doesn't matter how much experience you have but rather if you are an great leader. I feel Mcains move in selecting Palin is an attempt to grasp the people who voted for hilary. Mcain has changed his view on just about everything he preaches about. (WE CAN'T HAVE A BUSH #2)

  31. She has more executive experience. Obambi has more political experience and that is a fact. Besides isn't the mantra of change about getting fresh faces to change Washington?
