  1. First we need to be honest about the supporting research.  The fact is that we simply do not know enough about the atmosphere to make any real conclusions.

Second the period of time that occurred before the current 'global warming' trend is known to history a: 'the little ice age.'

The fact of the matter is that the earth has been getting warmer for the last 15,000 years.  When this trend ends then the world will be getting colder and eventually we will be having an ice age.

BTW - the primary method of differentiating between a belief system and science is how the proponents treat dissenting theories and opinion.  Notice how the people who believe in global warming absolutely refuse to listen to the skeptics?  This is a sign that global warming is more of a belief system than science.

  2. buy beach front property in Siberia

  3. Lock Al Gore up in an institution for the mentally insane where he belongs. While it may be that the earth is warming up. Carbon (or carbon credits) has little to do with it. If you want to know the true source of global warming look up any time between sun rise and sun set. It's that ball in the sky thats hard to look at because it's so bright. What does Al attribute the fact that all the other planets are also warming up to? Once him and his idiot supporters are locked up we could significantly reduce the air temperature by stuffing a gag in their mouths to stem the enormous flow of hot air!

Follow the money and the actions of Al Gore. He's making far more than any oil executive through spouting his B.S. Look at how Al lives. He is as blatant an example of decadent consumerism as there'll ever be. What is he personally doing himself besides running his mouth? I would say not a d**n thing. His house is bigger than all the houses I've ever lived in put together. And that's just one house, he has others. He probably owns more cars right now than all the ones I've owned put together. If you look up the word hypocrite in the dictionary it has his picture next to it.

  4. Buy yourself a topo map and study the projected changes in the shorelines of this country. Then invest in what will soon be beach front property. You could do something as simple as buy an option, not necessarily an outright purchase, and hold the option until the speculators get cranked up and going.

We have to face reality, here. The United States does not have the national or political will to do any preventative action just yet. The rest of the world, especially large nations such as China, will continue to contribute to the problem for a long time.

My advice is hope and work for the best while preparing for the worst.

  5. Well, as you can see from the answers above mine, the first step would be educating the public. Too many people like sticking their heads in the sand pretending we don't have a problem.

Yes, this is a natural trend, HOWEVER, our population is alarmingly speeding up this warming process.

Every single true scientist agrees that humans play a part in global warming. Stop listening to 'scientists' funded by oil companies that try and convince the public that there really isn't a problem, everything is fine, and we are not to blame. Go ahead and buy your hummers that guzzle up extreme amounts of oil and polute the planet.

A friend of mine is majoring in geography and he sent me this study he came across while doing research for a paper.

What degree temperature rise means for us:

One degree: increases in agricultural yields in Europe and North America.

Two degrees: Tropical regions experience yield declines. >5-10% declines in Africa.

Three degrees: Yields in Europe and North America peak. Potentially >500 million more people at risk of food shortages.

Four degrees: >35% yield declines in Africa. Large portions of Africa, Australia, some portions of Asia unable to support any agricultural activity. Human populations decimated in these regions.

Five degrees: Fish stocks collapse as ocean acidity rises. Coastal and marine-dependent human populations decimated.

Six degrees+: Agriculture collapses in most of the world. Equatorial regions of earth uninhabitable. Complete loss of majority of oceanic and lacustrine life. Billions die by famine; billions more forced to exist as nomads and refugees.

Evidence from the 1970s and 2001 indicate that earth has already experienced about 1.6 degrees warming.

  6. invest in companies that manufacture summer clothing so when your stock goes up, appreciably,  you'll be able to afford the high cost of electricity it will cost for you to cool your home.

Just like you can't do anything to change the fact the sun is going to rise tomorrow, there is nothing you can do to change the fact that the earth warms and cools in cycles. LEARN TO LIVE WITH IT. Adapt. Didn't Darwin teach you anything? Adapt, my brother. By altering our current behavior, (assuming that will change something,) you'll just enable the planet to keep getting overpopulated, overuse of resources. If you adapt, then millions will perish, the earth's way of purging itself. only the strong will survive. only those who adapt will survive.  That's how things will change. Gore knows it. He's stockpiling what he needs to live through it. You don't see him changing his behavior, do you?

  7. None...unless you want to interfere with nature.  The planet cools down then warms up, then cools down then warms up and has done for millions of years.  It'll still happen whether we're here or not.  These loony tree huggers who think they're morally superior because they're interested in 'saving the planet' are completely misguided.  We are trying to maintain the status quo which is totally un-natural. 99.99% of all animal & plant life that has ever existed on this planet is now extint.. it's normal...it's natural.  Species come and go all the time and we should be thankful as that's the only reason we're here now.  Anyone who wants to keep the planet exactly as it is now for ever more, needs to be locked up.  That would be completely disastrous for this planet.

  8. invest in technology not WAR

  9. The truth should be told.

Since there seem to be two sides to that truth, let both be told.

Only the gloom and doom side is allowed to exist.

Any attempt to question or investigate this "absolute truth" is stopped.  Scientists that question it are threatened with discharge or having their funding cut.

As long as there is only one side, this is a religion, and nothing Else.
