The world is becoming overpopulated by humans and now is the time to act. With polution levels on the rise and landfills exploding with chemicals and other pollutions that endanger the Earths natural enviroment. The main cause is overpopulation, and I want to know what is being done about it, what are the changes; if any?

  1. The planet is not overpopulated. All 6.5 Billion humans could fit into an area SMALLER then the size of Florida.

Now, if we can all fit in to this small of an area. Then the planet has plenty of room for our c**p as well.

Since we're also that small, it should tell you something about how little our impact on Global Warming is as well. People cry about a few trees in the Amazon when the Oceans will more then pick up the slack for drawing in Co2 levels.

Which by the way are plant food, if Co2 levels were on the rise, then we have stronger crops, more vibrant plants. and a continuation of the Earth's Natural cycle.

  2. There are two things I can think of that are being done about it.

    - One child policy in China which has been said leads to the infamous infanticide issue

    - And more loosely India has been enacting family planning programs, but their successes are debatable

  3. People need to have fewer children. Period. So far only China has instituted a policy addressing this, to my knowledge. No one needs more than 2 kids when there are 6.6 BILLION people on earth. All of the animals will go extinct (are going) resources will dry up (are drying up). It will be the kind of End of the World scenario people always rant about, only they will have caused it, not god or some other fate.

  4. I don't understand how the world is "overpopulated" when where I live, at least, there is so much wide open space where people could live.  It's not farm land, it's not protected parks, it's just places where people could live.  If it were true, and there was this problem of 'overpopulation' wouldn't every square inch of these places be filled with housing?

I mean, I, myself, have a huge back yard...in a city, wouldn't that have cost me a million dollars at least, if we were truly overpopulated, instead of less than 200 thousand?

I do not believe the earth is overpopulated.

  5. The earth is not over populated but it is being overly consumed by a society of people that only want one thing. EVERYTHING!

  6. I think that people need to quit having babies when they don't need them, and when they want to have babies, adopt!

I mean, there are SO many children in orphanages, it's not even funny!

  7. Like others have said, the way to beat overpopulation is to stop having so many children. The world needs to encourage people to limit their child births and seek other ways of getting children (e.g. adoption). Thus, contraceptives should also be encouraged.  However, this may prove to be a problem in less developed countries where contraceptives aren't easily available. Perhaps stronger and more prosperous nations could lend a helping hand.

Or we could start a nuclear war. That one way to end the problem....just kidding. xD
