I am looking to invest in either solar panels or a small windmill for my house. Which one should I use? Is one more efficient than the other?

  1. Well it would depend on :

Your estimated power consumption per day, your location and your budget too.

The best would be to go for solar as well as windmill combination. Again the solar could be photocell type and also radiation absorbing type ( at least for heating water) etc.

    thnks

  2. Something that might help aid on your system choice finances would be government incentives.

  3. blimey for the first time, i agree with 'nicelady'!

get solar and wind charts for your area.

where i am, one of each is the best option.

  4. There may also be tax discounts or low-interest loans for one type or the other (or both), depending on where you live.

  5. It all depends on where you live.  If you live at a warm, always hot environment, get solar panels.  If you live in a moderate environmnet(cold winters, cool summers), get a windmill.  The solar panels are more efficent since during winter they can still obtain sunlight.  Windmills need wind in order to generate electricity, and there isn't always wind.

  6. First off you're just a level one armature, asking a level one question.

Get your head out of your a*s and ask a less broad questions....BiAtCccch

  7. That depends where you live and what weather conditions are most common in your area.  If you live in an area that is consistently windy then the wind turbine would be better.  Photovoltaic cells work better in areas that are sunny most of the time like Arizona.

  8. I am just going to go with everyone else and say it depends where you live

  9. You might want to visit the NOAA website and look up your area with regard to which would be more practical for you.

  10. That depends a lot on where you live and how reliable/intense sunlight and/or wind are.

If you live in Arizona: solar panels.

If you live in Holland: windmill.

  11. solar!

  12. Electric, Gas, Methane, to windmill. You could use a windmill but you never know what will happen. Gas costs money, Methane Smells, and Electric (Batteries) could be a way! Solar panels could charge Batteries, and at night you can use that power generated during the day!
