I have a sony 1000w subwoofer which i bought recently. This is the only thing i am going to be powering by amp as i do not need to link the speakers up to it cause they are connected to the head unit. I need to know what kind (e.g. mono block, 2 channel, 4 channel amp) and how many watts and watts rms to power this kind of amp.

and what kind of amp if im thinking of installing two 4 inch speakers in the back with it?

cheers hope you can help

  1. If you are going to run a subwoofer you will need a monoblock or 2 channel but if you add a pair of speakers you will want a 4 channel amp. as to power it mainly depends on the rms power of the subwoofer. you probably need about 300-500 w RMS to power the sub.

  2. go with about 500w TRUE power amp good wires and good grounds +++++++  ----------

mono 's fine even brigable amp good make sure it can go to your ohm rating matching games man .. ... .. 3. "The numbers all go to eleven"

"oh, yeah, most amps go to ten"

    "exactly"

" does that mean it's louder?"

"well, it's one louder, isnt it..it's not ten"

"why dont you just make ten louder?"

    "these go to eleven"
