  1. Your first mistake was buying a sony. sony invented the walkman they should have stopped there.Your best bet is to cut and cap the speaker wires from behind the radio and run rca cables to a small full range amp.Make sure when you hook up the amp that it has a clean tight ground the ground cable should be no longer then three feet if not the amp will clip and distort. aux is for pluggin in a ipod walkman or cd player if your deck doesn't have one like if your deck has only a cd player you can plug in a walkman and listen to a tape.Car decks are not big enough to fit the proper size power supply to produce clean amplification thats why an external amp is your best bet.The only radio i ever heard that was bangggggin with out an external amp was a clarion. That was ten years ago.Now there all bootleggers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

  2. AUX - Auxiliary Port (you can plug in something like an ipod into  an aux input and hit Aux button and listen to the ipod).  What do you want an amp for? speakers or subwoofers???  to get a subwoofer you always need an amp, your sony headunit or any headunit is not powerful enough to push any subwoofer.  if you want 2 subwoofers get a 2 channel amp if you want 1 subwoofer get a mono channel amp.  note( if you want your car speakers to be louder, you can get another amp for the inside speakers)
