Question:

What kind of amp/reciever would suit my new JBL Northridge E series speakers???

Hey all,

I just purchased a JBL home theater setup

Its the JBL Northridge E series and consists of 6 Parts

2 x E80 towers

2x E10 rear speakers

1 centre speaker - EC25

and 1 enclosed subwoofer - E150P

what kind of amp or reciever would i want to buy??

i know absolutely nothing about this sort of thing

but i don't want too spend way too much

i was looking at one called yamaha Rx-v659 but didn't but it as i wasn't sure. can someone that knows about this kind of thing give me some info??

  1. Yamah, Denon, Marantz and Onkyo are generally considered to be the better mainstream receivers. I would suggest Yamaha or Denon (and I actually favor Denon but many people would choose Yamaha). The receiver you mention is a 7.1 (seven speakers and a sub) and is a decent one. You may be able to find a 5.1 for a bit less but 7.1 is now the norm. This Denon is onsale at circuit city
