  1. that is a very broad question, that is up for debate certainly.

But if i  had a civic and was looking for a sub i would consider a few things. first i would look under the rear seat to see if a thin mount would fit under the seat in a custom enclosure, i suspect it would. i would try to fit a pioneer thin mount, or possible give the Elemental designs thin mount a whirl. but i would likely not spend the inflated amount on the JL. most other brands i would likely not go thin mount. although i may take a test listen to a kenwood excelon, before making a final decision. from there i would power it with a compact amp that would fit under a front seat. right now Sony has a small digital amp that would power the thin mount sub nicely (~ 300 watts). if a sub would not fit under the rear seat then i would use a thin mount in the trunk, BUT not in a traditional box. I would remove the spare tire (i have tow insurance anyway) and maybe raise the floor a couple inches, and use this area for the sub, and the amps.  this set up would still leave the front seat for a 4 channel amp (replace the stock speakers w/ 6 1/2" components all around). when it was done, nothing would "appear" to be in the truck, yet the system would sound excellent. not "hear it 3 blocks away" loud, but it would sound great, and go louder than my ears should really take.

A civic is a great car for a sound system. especially the newer ones. they are small yet quite, and have great stock locations and sizes.

  2. Me myself i would go with two15s in a civic  in a seald box .  who really needs a trunk anyway ;)
