  1. Zebra are a seperate species of Equidae, the horse family, not a cross.


  2. Zebras are not hybrids - they're not a cross between anything. They are species in their own right. However, they can breed with horses and donkeys, producing hybrid offspring which, like most hybrids, are nearly always sterile. Here's a picture of a zeedonk (zebra-donkey cross):
