I know I do not need a digital converter for my hdtv but I don't have an antenna. I would like one that receives analog, digital and high def.

  1. In North America, analog, and digital (including high def) broadcasts use the same antennas. You will find all the new antennas are marketed as "digital",  "HD", or some other marketing BS. Even 30 year old antennas are "high def".

What kind you need is very dependent on your location relative to your local broadcast stations and what's between you and those transmitters.

Generally an antenna that gives good analog reception will also be good for digital. What kind of antennas do your neighbors use?

You can find the location of your local transmitters at the links below and read tv antenna reviews.

If you want a more specific answer, include info like zip code, distance to transmitters, and whats between you and the transmitters including the construction of the  building the antenna will be in.

If you are within 10 miles or so from the TV transmitters, you might get by with a simple $10 rabbit ear antenna.
