What kind of apple tree would grow best in Washington?

Washington DC or Washington State?..... I mean if you're in the state that is one of the best places in the country to grow apples besides NY!  Just pick any variety! But if it was me  I think I would choose Granny Smith's. Mostly because they are sour and delicious so go with those! Best tasting apples just about and I am pretty sure Washington State has the best Granny Smiths in the country- if not the world! Found a link to them check it out!
