  1. Most of it is the exact same stuff that you can get from the US . Gerber and Nestle formulas are everywhere in Mexico City. The selection could become limited if you go to rural areas where people tend to breastfeed and cook their own food for babies.

As for pasteurization, mexicans take it very seriously. I don't even think they sell ultrapastaurized milk in the states (doesn't need to be refrigerated unless you open it).

  2. Charlie is completely right. You can find formulas made by Enfamil, Nestlé, SMA, etc., but it is better if you bring your own, I do that for my baby when I travel to the U.S.

As for baby food, you can only find Gerber and Nestlé, but the variety is very limited. You will find about 6 or 7 stage one vegetables, some second stage fruits and like 5 different meals, there are also some desserts and third stage foods. Wal-Mart also carries the fruit puffs, wagon wheels, etc. The Gerber juice selection is almost the same as in the U.S.

Here's the link to Gerber in Mexico, so you can see what's available here:

  3. All types are available in larger cities and tourist attractions. Pasturized milk is widely available. Mexico is a highly civilzed country and loves its babies. Bien Viaje

  4. Most formula is made by Nestle or Enfamil...but has different names than in the states.  Baby food is  generally Gerber, but smaller selection.  This could be different in the tourist centers.    You may want to bring your own powdered formula to be sure you don't have to use a different brand than the baby is used to.
