Question:

What kind of bag should I use to hold garbage?

I was using plastic bags from the supermarket to hold garbage. Then I started bringing my own canvas bags for groceries. So I have no more bags for garbage!

I'm wondering which is better for the environment: going back to using supermarket plastic bags, or buying new plastic garbage bags?

  1. They are labeled clearly in the store ( GARBAGE BAGS ).

If you are concerned you can get biodegradable garbage bags but I don't think they are as strong so they may spoil your indoor environment while " saving " the one outdoors.

  2. they are just as bad either way, we ought to use paper bags really

  3. If you wanted to be really "green" you could find a large bag made out of nylon or recycled plastic from bottles and put your garbage in there.  Then when you dump your trash, just take out all the garbage from the bag, wash out the bag with a hose or in the bathtub and then reuse.  If that sounds like too much work I would go with paper bags, but make sure they are made from renewable forests.

  4. you should store all of your garbage in styrofoam containers and then dump them in a lake.

  5. I would say its the same difference unless you can buy recycled plastic bags.

  6. I use plastic bags from the grocery store.  They are perfect.

  7. Neither.  You should reduce/reuse/ or recycle instead of throwing stuff in the trash.
