Question:

What kind of barrel should I get for my Paintball gun?

I have a BT-4 SWAT and the barrel that comes with it is mediocre at best. I am looking for a barrel that is accurate, rifled is preferred. What barrel should I look into buying? I also heard that the air system affects accuracy too, is this true, and if so, which is preferred?

  1. Lapco Apex-ready 12" Big Shot with Apex tip -- great combination for improved accuracy AND range... http://www.lapcopaintball.com/store/prod...

If Apex is not what you had in mind, and improving your accuracy trumps increased range or you would rather not shell out $100 for a barrel, then either:

J&J Performance Ceramic -- best performance for dollar

    Lapco Big Shot

  2. I think the Apex barrel system would allow you to gain plenty of accuracy and still retain the cool looks of an M-16/M-4 gun.

Its also available as an AK front end if you would prefer that look.

Your type of air delivery system CAN affect accuracy.Use of an expansion chamber or better yet a Palmers stabilizer will give you more consistent operating pressure. By providing more consistency in each shot the accuracy of each shot increases. Some say HPA provides this consistency without the need for any add ons...I dont use HPA so I cannot really say.

  3. I would say a J&J ceramic barrel, although i'm not sure if they make one for the bt-4...if not an apex should be fine, and as for air system effecting accuracy, the guy above me said it perfectly.
