My kids have 2 hermit crabs. They have had them for over a year now. We are looking for more ideas for their tank. We have tried sand, but it gets smelly fast. My daughter cleans the tank every other day. We are using rocks right now. My kids would like to add other things to the tank. We have the cute shell feeder with the palm tree, and we got them the a water bowl that looks like pond. Any other ideas for things we can add to the tank or to feed them would be great. Thanks!

  1. eco-earth is the best for molting, plus it stays moist very easy. And to top it off, it doesnt dry out like sand. Sand I think they like more, and it keeps the crabitat looking natural, this is what I do.

I take natural fine sand from my local beach.

    I take a brick of eco-earth

I add some crushed oyster shells

    and a little salt

I mix it together and its really good for the crabs they love it.

    Good Luck!

  2. sand and rocks are best!!!! make sure you change their water every day and they also like fruits and veggies!!!! small rocks like pebble are good to.
