What kind of bee was this?

It is all black and it is in my house. I attempted to kill it and I thought I did but it just flew away. It didn't seem pissed. What is it?

  1. If it was bigger than a normal bee it was probably a carpenter bee. They don't sting very often.

    they are more relaxed and docile than other bees
