  1. Generally-LD is only educational benefits-government benefits are more for people with difficulty with activities of daily living (eating, dressing, self help)/medical problems requiring signifcant care froma doctor.

  2. It all depends on what and how severe the learning disability is. Also do you mean benefits in education such as help at school or financial benefits?

  3. depends where you live and how severe the childs problems are. The child may qualify for something like reading recovery or extra help from a support teacher/aide if that is available through their school.

At my school there were quite a few students who had learning disabilities (I couldn't see any obvious disabilities in these children and they seemed the same as me) and they got assistance from a support teacher who they worked with apart from the general class maybe once or twice a week

  4. Sometimes kids with disabilities qualify to receive assistance from SSI. However, the child has to have a significant disability to qualify. The families use the money for things like special babysitters, respite care, therapies not covered by insurance or Medicare, etc.

  5. None if you are talking about monetary benefits.  Benefits with learning like at school and things like that, I don't know.
