Soley for roads, not extremely long distances. Preferably a 2 seater, and one of course that is street legal. Not extremely expensive but is similar or is a moped. I am a girl and it would be my main transportation. Mainly to save gas. THANKS!

  1. Any scooter, 125 or bigger.  Any street bike that fits you 125 - 250.  Cruisers like the pictured are good because they have a low seat height.

  2. Either a Honda Rebel 250, or a Kawasaki Vulcan 500.

My first bike is a Vulcan ... nice cruiser.  Not TOO much power, but the power is not less, either.  Pretty low, and looks really smart.  The engine is similar to the Ninja 500 (the sports bike).  I'm a girl as well, and I find that it saves me TONS of gas!

  3. For short distances, or city driving, 90to 200 cc size bikes/ mopeds are suitable. Do not take small bikes on highways, they just cannot keep up with traffic.Don't forget to Get a Helmet and wear real shoes and proper attire.Ask anyone who ever got knocked off of a bike to tell you why. Pep Boys has some cheap(made in China) mopeds, but I would also consider a Honda or Yamaha( more expensive, but much better reputation),Jim

  4. It depends on the roads you'll be on. If it's heavy, slow traffic, under 45 miles an hour, I'd recommend looking at scooters. The newer scooters are easier to deal with in traffic, in my opinion, because of the automatic transmission. Lighter traffic or faster roads, you'll want more power and you would want to look at motorcycles. Kawasaki, Honda, and Suzuki all make good 250-500 cc starter motorcycles. Vespa, Honda, Kymco, and Yamaha all make scooters with good reputations, though I'd advise staying away from the very small (50cc or below) engine scooters if you're going to go above 35 mph.

The most important thing to do is take the MSF course! You'll be able to make a better decision after that.

  5. There are some nice electric motor scooters at www.scootersnbikes.com that would be legal in many states requiring only a drivers license, but they only go around 24 mph for a 170 lb person on level ground. The good news is they can carry up to 460 lbs of wt., and they are less than $900 including shipping!

At least you can take a look.

  6. I'd get a Kawasaki Ninja 250 if you like sport bikes or a Honda Nighthawk if you like cruisers. Both are light and low to the ground so they;re easy to handle for beginners. The Ninja 250 can be picked up used for around $2500 and is fun for beginners & experts alike. It does fine on the highway but it's probably too light for long trips.  Oh, and can you say 70 miles per gallon????

  7. Find you a nice condition used Honda Rebel 250, nice looking bike..not expensive, great gas milage.

  8. I recommend you look at Kymco and Hyosungs lines. They are not as expensive as the  Japanese brands and as Good or better. They use to build motors for the Japanese brands. They have many different styles and sizes to suit a wide variety of riders. They are not  the imports that are falling apart everywhere. Both companies have been making motorcycles and scooters since the 60's. I have had dealing with them for about six years and usually only normal maintenance is all they ever need. They cost less to buy and cost less to operate and fix when needed. The ninja is a nice bike but not very good for a wide range of things other than cruising around looking like a wannabe road racer

  9. I think you should get a 2008 ninja 250. Okay this bike would be great. I am girl and this is the bike I am getting. This will my main transportation and it goes fast (well I think so my brother does not) I think this bike is beautiful. Go here and see what you think: http://smithbrothersoneonta.com/Bikes/Ka...

I hope you love it! (Like I do)
