  2. for Me CATEYEs are the best, and I have had both wired and wireless and both are accurate as long as you program the wheel diameter correctly. I prefer the wireless, they cost more, but are less likely to break.

  3. Specialized makes a very good computer. Gives you speed (mph), average speed, top speed, measures distance and a few other features,,you dont really need anything more than that..buttons are big, screenis big enough,,manual is easy to read,,,they make wireless and wired,,,if you live somewhere that it gets really cold (under 20 degrees) get wired,,wireless does not work well in super cold weather

  4. I like Sigma's and I bought the same model after loosing the first one. However, I have to admit, Cateyes are much cheaper and are probably just as good.

  5. Cateye.  I have the double wireless on my Madone (Road bike) and the wired on my 7.5 fx (fitness hybrid).  Best bang for the buck.  Highly accurate and no complaints.

  6. I like Cateye because their cadence models allow me to see cadence and speed at the same time. Wireless is easy to install and looks nice, but is subject to interference from power lines and other electronic stuff. I've gone 200+ mph on a climb when using a wireless; with a standard wired computer my best speed ever for the same hill was 22 mph at the top.

  7. I've used several and none of them was better than any other. They have all worked well and reliably. The one I most recently bought displays speed, ride distance, average speed, total bike distance, max speed, and date/time. It's wireless and was about $20 on sale at performance. Just pick the functions you need and make sure the display has good visibility if your eyesight is an issue.

If you are looking for brand names, I've used Cateye and Ascent. Be aware that some Cateye models do not display average speed. That's an important number for me, but YMMV.
