the first answerer got it right, it's a new harley, and didn't take much "modifying" to make it look like an OLD harley....

(they haven't changed much of their design since the 50's)

and don't assume if you buy one it'll sound anything like the one in the movie. the sound affects for bikes/cars in movies are always way off.

It's a 2007 HD Springer Softail modified to look like it's from the 1950's

Just goes to show you how far Lucas and Spielberg have their heads up their asses. They could not use a period bike they use a 2007. Why not use Hummers instead of Jeeps too?? This kinda of c**p is an insult to all motorcycle enthusiasts. Jesus this was produced by Paramount pictures and Universal studios, which has bikes that would be period. Or they could have contacted the AMCA or many other Antique motorcycle groups. I do believe they have them in yes even Hollyweird.
