  1. Hey Shadow,

    My friend ran into the same problem with her 95 Toyota Corolla.  She ended up buying a class 2 frame hitch receiver and mounting it to the rear of her car.  She then bought a standard bike rack that mounts to any 1 1/4  rear hitch like hers.  She mounted a nice Sport Rack like the ones you see on the front of the Metro Buses.  The only drawback was this cost her a lot of money, but it saved her paint-job on her car and loading and unloading bikes is really easy.  Just my 2 cents.

  2. I'm sure that you are aware that the plastic moulding is just a cover over the real bumper.

    Almost every trunk mount rack will eventually leave marks or dents on the plastic, so if you are looking to avoid this I'm afraid you won't have much luck.

    I suggest that you get a Saris Bones rack. They seem to do the least amount of damage due to the big feet and the tendency to spread the weight over a wider area.
