What kind of bird flys near the ground?

Question

whenever i'm playing soccer there are these birds that fly right over the ground, they are brown and some i've seen have blue stomachs and others are just white,

the only thing i can think of is martains or swallows that eat isects they fly over grass to catch them as they fly up off the groung they also do it on rivers and streams..
