He has a canary yellow head but the beak and eye area is black. He has black wings but a canary yellow chest/torso. His tail is black. I have a picture but don't know how to post it.

  1. It is an oriole..they are also nectar feeders.  There are a few species so not sure which type is in your area..you did not mention where you live.  Look here to see if either of these are your bird:

    Bullock's Oriole:

    Hooded Oriole:

    Baltimore Oriole:

They also make nectar feeders specifically for orioles:

  2. Sounds like a goldfinch!  They're such pretty birds.  I almost thought an oriole, but they have black heads.  http://www.enature.com/flashcard/show_fl...

  3. Goldfinch!
