  1. I have a budgie and I hope to get parrotlets soon, and I have a very similar schedule.  He has a large cage so he can exercise when I am not there.  When I am gone, he usually plays with his toys.  Your future bird should be fine.  But before you give him a mirror, make sure he bonds with you.

I would suggest budgies, lovebirds or parrotlets.  Budgies and Parrotlets have very bright personalities and can fit in a smaller house than large birds.

Good luck and I hope you found my info helpful!

  2. look into cocketeils.  They are smart, funny and not expensive.

They love attention and train easily adnm love chewy 'toys'

like string, rope and teh typical store goodies..  They eat the typical teil foods as well as millet spray, fruits and veggies, just be sure to check the 'do not eat' list as you should for any pet.

  3. im saving some money for a pet when i turn fourteen two

even thought mine will be wayyyyyy more expensve

    i want a tb horse

  4. My conure bonded with me after four days and they are very cute and loveable.  Conures need 12 hrs of dark time to sleep.  So if you get one maybe you can reverse hours on it so that it sleeps while your at school.  You can cover the cage with a large towel or blanket.

  5. aren't parrots the only bird that can do all that... i doubt the other kinds u mentioned will! I have 2 budgies- they don't come out of their cage. I still talk 2 them & play around with them out side their cage.

  6. Cockatiels are parrots and are much tamer and easier to train than the small parrots that you've listed.  Males tend to whistle and talk more, but are usually a bit more aggressive.

You say you have experience with Cockatiel's - have you ever owned one?  I think everybody who wants a large parrot should be forced to own a Cockatiel first.  Birds are so much work!  I've had 3 Cockatiels and currently own an African Grey Parrot.  They are loud and messy.  It's supposed to be my bird, but it hates me and loves my husband - it has been this way from the beginning.  When my husband is deployed, the bird will tolerate me.

Carefully research the bird you want and find out why you want it.  The newness wears off rather quickly, especially if your bird is a biter or screamer.

    Good luck!
