Question:

What kind of birth control works best for you?

I was on birth control two years ago, and I stopped it because it made me feel awful. I was taking Ortho-TriCyclen Lo, and I was always moody and bloated, not to mention I gained 40 Lbs. while on it. I don't completely blame the BC for the weight gain, but it definitely made it nearly impossible to lose.

I'd like to start again, but I'm not sure what method or brand is good with less side effects. I've done research on them, but I'd like a personal view on it.

  1. I do not recommend depo provera.  The health issues most women have on it is horrible and I would never ever recommend it to anyone.  Bone health loss, infertility, the list will go on and on...

Check out the reviews here as well.

I was on depo for four years, and it was horrible.

I went to Kariva immediately after depo provera, and I loved it.  I was on Kariva for a little over two years with NO side affects whatsoever.  I'd recommend giving it a try.

  2. depo injections its amazing =]

  3. I tried Celeste which was awful. Microgynon 30 was ok but really killed my s*x drive.

  4. I have a Depo-provera injection every three months. In truth not for birth control but to stop my periods. I've had the shots for 9 years and not one side effect.

  5. i use diane or other wise known as estelle...

its a pill that helps my skin as well as contraception..

all pills will make you gain wait and bloat for the first yr or so of taking them.. but i have had no problems with this certain type.. it has really made my skin clearer and made me feel much better internaly.

always use condoms with it tho if you plan to have s*x..

    xo

  6. I've tried a couple of different methods

Depo: I had the most side affects with this contraceptive, and I stopped having my period and started spotting. Plus you are advised to take calcium supplements because it affects your bone density. On the other hand, it's only once every 3 months!

Patch: It was easy, and I had my period calculated to the exact day. Only thing, it might irritate your skin.

Nuva Ring: A bit weird the fist time I inserted it but completely forgot about it, I couldnt feel a thing. You only have to change it every 3 weeks. This was my favorite. You just have to be comfortable with yourself.

I am not a pill person at all! My days are so different that I cannot take a pill at the same time everyday without forgetting or it being in my way of something....but that's just me.

    Good luck
